Love it or loathe it, you can’t help but have noticed that it’s Hollywood awards season. Two months of incredible outfits, over-the-top spray tans, red carpets, polite applause and tiny statuettes awaits. The whole shebang kicked off on Monday night with the Golden Globes, celebrating the best of film and television.

Now, I’m no awards night wowser. I love a fabulous frock (or perfectly tailored pair of cigarette pants, here’s looking at you Julia Roberts) as much as the next woman. Let she who doesn’t click through at least 50 pictures in a gallery of gorgeous gowns cast the first stone. However, I do enjoy a little substance in amongst all that glitz and glamour. And last night, that substance came in the form of actress Regina King.
