You will receive the Cisco Webex link in the confirmation / reminder emails from Calendly after you have booked into a session. If you have added the session to your calendar it will also be in the calendar invite. Click the link or copy the URL and paste it into a new tab. 

If you're using Chrome or Linux, the web app automatically opens.

If you're using Windows or Mac and you don't have the app installed yet, the app downloads to your computer. 

1. Run the installation file (webex.exe on Windows and webex.pkg on Mac) and follow the instructions.
2. The Webex Meeting app opens when the installation is complete.
3. Click Open Webex if you're prompted to do so, otherwise click Launch meeting.
4. Edit your name as you want it to appear in the meeting (optional) and then check the Remember me check box to save you time the next time you join a meeting.
5. Click Join as a guest.
6. Connect your audio and video in the preview window before you join the meeting so you can make sure you can be heard and seen.
7. Make sure to give the app access to your microphone and camera.
8. Click Join meeting.
9. A Future Women team member will let you in from the waiting room 

If a mentee doesn’t submit a challenge in advance, we recommend just checking in with that individual during the session (e.g. asking where they are at, what they are working on at the moment, and whether there is anything they would like to put to the group). There is no requirement for you to chase mentees for career challenges.

Once you have delivered two mentoring sessions you will automatically be offered the Credly accreditation for your Linkedin profile. If that has not happened please get in touch [email protected]

We encourage any of our mentors who have the capacity to host more than 5 sessions to do so. You will receive prompts to book in for sessions throughout the year and there is no limit to the number that you book into.

At the start of every mentoring session, the FW team member will touch on the community guidelines with the group. Specifically they will cover:

That participants are required to keep the conversation: 

• Friendly

• Respectful

• Supportive

That all information shared during the session is to be treated as confidential

They will mention that participants should “Take care of mental health” for themselves and be considerate of others in the group.

They will also cover general housekeeping for the session, including:

• Keep your video on if possible

• Ensure your microphone is off unless you are speaking

• Closed captioning is available 

• Select the ‘CC’ speech bubble bottom left-hand corner of your screen

• Feedback survey

• All links will be emailed to you afterwards

Mentoring sessions are one-off. There is no expectation that you provide any additional support, time or information outside the 90min session.

You are of course welcome to do so if you want, but it is not expected or required. 

We encourage you to share any resources that you think are suitable for the group. Popping these resources in the chat during the session is a great way to do so.

At the end of every mentoring session we gather feedback from mentees.

You can request that this feedback is shared with you if you would like.

The Mentor Manager reviews all feedback weekly. If they feel there is a need to discuss the feedback with you, they will get in touch directly.
