Your events The latest Member benefits Mentoring Find out everything you need to know before hosting a small group mentoring session as FW Managing Director, Helen McCabe, shares her helpful tips and tricks. The Mentoring Guide includes information on the format of our mentoring sessions, the different mentees you can mentor, additional resources you may want to provide to participants in mentoring sessions, as well as our process for managing more complex concerns, including disclosures and mental health challenges. The Mentee Handout is a resource for our mentees. This handout helps to brainstorm members current strengths, their career challenges and ways to move forward. We encourage our members to bring this resource to their mentoring sessions so it may be helpful for you to have a read. Mentor guide Mentee handout Booking your mentoring session We use a platform called Calendly to track mentor availability. The link below will give you visibility of a selection of times you can mentor. It will be up to you to click the session/s that suits you and once you have registered for a session you will receive a confirmation email, via which you can add the booking to your calendar. To host a session with mentees who are early to mid-career leadership program participants click here. Once you have booked in for a session it is important you can attend at that time, as it is difficult for us to reschedule. However, in the event that you are no longer able to host a session we ask that you send an email to [email protected]. Book a session What platform are mentoring sessions hosted on? Expand All mentoring sessions are hosted on Zoom, a popular and free video conferencing platform. You can prepare to attend mentoring by downloading Zoom onto your phone, computer or tablet. Find more information here. If you're unable to download Zoom due to workplace IT restrictions, you can open the meeting link via your browser. Not all of my mentees have submitted a career challenge? Expand If a mentee doesn’t submit a challenge in advance, we recommend just checking in with that individual during the session (e.g. asking where they are at, what they are working on at the moment, and whether there is anything they would like to put to the group). There is no requirement for you to chase mentees for career challenges. I am no longer available to facilitate the mentoring session I had booked in. What do I do? Expand You can reschedule your session via the Calendly booking page by simply clicking reschedule or cancel. If your session is in the next 24 hours, please call our mentor coordinator, Pan, on 0426 652 808. How do I get my Credly accreditation on Linkedin for FW mentoring? Expand Once you have delivered two mentoring sessions you will automatically be offered the Credly accreditation for your Linkedin profile. If that has not happened please get in touch [email protected] How many sessions should I commit to? Expand We recommend committing to hosting at least four sessions a year, though you’re welcome to host as many sessions as you like. If you no longer think you can deliver one session, please let us know at [email protected] How do I join the FW Members Only Facebook Group? Expand Visit https://www.facebook.com/groups/futurewomencommunity/ and request to join. You will be admitted by one of the Future Women admins. One of my mentees had requested I provide additional support or advice outside the small group mentoring session. What do I do? Expand Mentoring sessions are one-off. There is no expectation that you provide any additional support, time or information outside the 90min session. You are of course welcome to do so if you want, but it is not expected or required. Can I share my own resources during the session? Expand We encourage you to share any resources that you think are suitable for the group. Popping these resources in the chat during the session is a great way to do so. What content do I have access to as part of the mentor membership? Expand What do I gain access to as part of the mentor membership? Your member benefits include: A virtual ticket to our annual Future Women Leadership summit, held in March every year.
