FW AI Transparency Statement

FW’s approach to Artificial Intelligence

Responsible and intentional use of AI will help us enable more women to achieve economic security and personal fulfilment through work. FW is committed to navigating the AI future ethically and equitably, embracing opportunities for innovation to improve outcomes for our people, members and partners.

We understand that the absence of deliberate efforts to govern AI usage may result in lost opportunities for innovation and risk contributing to potential disruptions to women’s economic equality. To address this, we developed six principles to guide the implementation and monitoring of AI by FW.

Our principles

  • Equity, accessibility and gender inclusion: FW is committed to proactively addressing the likely disruption to women and gender-diverse people’s employment by providing targeted support and training to our program participants.
  • Sustainability: FW uses Al tools intentionally, aligning with B-Corporation practices and prioritising efficient models to support our mission of advancing women’s careers.
  • Ethical and transparent AI: FW employs human oversight to minimise bias across all AI outputs. We ensure transparency is provided to our employees, participants and members regarding our use of AI or AI-assisted decision making.
  • Human-centered value: FW centers the unique human experiences of our employees and members when implementing AI augmentation.
  • Data privacy and security: FW follows robust security protocols, strict data minimisation practices and processes only Personally Identifiable Information (PII) with valid consent and clearly defined purposes.
  • Continuous learning and upskilling: FW considers the introduction of AI as an investment opportunity, providing training and dedicated time for our employees to master new AI skills.

How we are using AI to improve gender equality in the workplace

  • Supporting equitable workforce participation: FW actively promotes equitable workforce participation by equipping our participants and staff with the confidence, skills and knowledge to navigate and adapt to an AI-enabled workforce.
  • Driving business efficiencies to boost outcomes: AI helps us automate administrative tasks, augments analytics and improves our workplace productivity so we can spend more time on complex and relational activities that strengthen women’s economic security.

We do not use AI to process applications to our programs or memberships. We ensure human oversight is used in all decision-making processes and outputs.

In the future, we may consider broadening the use of AI to improve the delivery of our programs, including providing more personalised support for our participants.
