On her online platform, Par Femme, women can find everything from feminine erotic imagery to the softest cotton underwear to intimate products (sex toys) made from the highest-grade natural materials—carefully curated and vetted by Nakata and her team. As the co-founder of Oyster Magazine, Nakata was renowned for fostering international creative talent. Now, she’s channelling her energies toward helping women connect with their sensuality, in a safe non-judgmental environment designed specifically for the female gaze. Par Femme was born out of a collaboration with Nakata’s friend and past fashion editor at Oyster Magazine, Ruby Heery. “Ruby’s interest in the notion of femininity and how female sensuality and sexuality has been captured in imagery across time captured my imagination,” says Nakata. “We shared a similar vision to create a website offering women intimate products and destigmatizing the stereotypical offering of adult stores.” Having been a publisher, Nakata also felt it was important to be able to share stories and amplify creative talent. Par Femme has a growing cult following who appreciate that the offering is not only beautiful but also informed by medical professionals and sex therapists. Here, she shares her insights on female sexuality, breaking taboos and more. And if you’re in Sydney this week, check out their second pop-up store from November 30 to December 1 in Darlinghurst (see their Instagram for details). They’ll be hosting immersive physical activations with sexologists on hand to speak about intimate topics and answer questions, and they’ll have special offers on their range of products. leadersmyfavouritethings Best Of Future Women Gender diversity Wait, what?
