Cyber 5050 Change Makers: Privacy Notice and Consent

Privacy Notice and Consent

It’s important to us that you understand how Future Women (“we”, “us” or “our”) handles your personal information in terms you’re comfortable with.

This notice and consent relates to our Change Makers Workshop (Workshop) which you are applying for under the Australian Federal Government funded Building Women’s Careers grant initiatives.

Cyber5050

Cyber5050 is an Australian Government (Government) funded project that is part of the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations’ (DEWR) Building Women’s Careers Program and is administered by the Department of Innovation, Science and Resources (DISR).

Led by CyberCX, Cyber5050 is a collaborative partnership between CyberCX, Future Women (FW), the Australian Women in Security Network (AWSN), Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT), and the Australian Services Union (ASU). Through the delivery of multiple initiatives, Cyber5050 addresses the structural and cultural barriers to women’s participation in the cybersecurity industry.

Delivered as part of the Cyber5050 program initiatives, the Workshop is a transformative initiative for male managers, aimed at deepening their understanding of inclusive workplace practices. This Workshop equips leaders to drive cultural change and foster open, constructive dialogue around gender equality. The training will be delivered as a dynamic workshop that responds to the needs of participants. Our expert facilitators will help participants have meaningful conversations that benefit them as individuals, as well as their organisation, in a psychologically safe environment.

What do we collect?

We collect the Personal Information you have entered into the application form (such as your full name, contact details, and gender), information relating to your engagement during the Workshop (such as attendance and feedback you provide), and information relating to your views and career experiences related to gender biases, gender stereotypes, workplace dynamics, fairness and equity in the workplace, unconscious biases, inclusive leadership, and high-performing teams in the cybersecurity industry. Upon your completion of the Workshop, we will ask participants to complete a survey which will evaluate and measure the qualitative and quantitative impact on the Workshop participants regarding the usefulness, applicability, and impact of the Workshop.

Why do we collect your information?

We collect your information to:

  • Provide and facilitate our Workshop and related activities, such as giving you updates about your Workshop, reviewing and actioning any questions or complaints, improving our Workshops, and any other administrative matters.
  • Provide reports to the Government (via our partner CyberCX) on the participants’ engagement with the Workshop, and the impact of this Workshop against the broader Cyber5050 program objectives to ensure transparency, evaluation, and accountability.
  • Conduct qualitative research in conjunction with our partner, the AWSN, regarding women’s participation in the cybersecurity industry and the impact of the Workshop. This may include sharing the data with the Cyber5050 Project Lead (CyberCX) and/or incorporating your deidentified application responses into larger datasets gathered as part of another Cyber5050 initiative, “Survey and Advice,” which considers barriers to women’s participation in the cybersecurity industry and provides practical advice to the Government.
  • Support our marketing activities in connection with other relevant Cyber5050 program initiatives and partners. We may contact you about events we may conduct in 2025-2027, including but not limited to options for further Workshops, surveying regarding the Cyber5050 program, FW opportunities, and other events or activities relating to cybersecurity.
